History of Video Games

Here’s a video montage of video gaming’s evolution. It starts, unsurprisingly, with Pong, and scrolls through your Froggers, your Zeldas, and your Ultimas until it concludes with Wii Golf, which I cannot wrench my father away from.

The video’s set to the brooding “Love Hurts” by Incubus. As cheerless as the song is, I have to admit it works extremely well with footage of the shot quarry from “Duck Hunt” falling to Earth.

How many of these featured games can you name? If you’re as hopeless as I am, far too many. I imagine the video was authored in Europe, as it features a brief glimpse of the “Out of This World,” an Super Nintendo classic that was severely under appreciated in America.

Also, look for a guest appearance by Guybrush Threepwood!
